  • Q. What on Earth is this?

VANISHING ACT is best described as an Escape Room. In an Escape Room, audience members are locked in a room and tasked with solving a series of complex puzzles, finding and deciphering clues, and escaping the room within a set time frame. Some call it a real-life video game. Fans call it addictive and one of the most unique nights of entertainment you can have.

  • Q. Why on Earth should I do this?

Who doesn’t want to be the hero of an adventure? Who doesn’t want the chance to play detective? Who hasn’t imagined being at the center of an adventure you might only find on a screen? And yeah, we answered your question with questions. Deal with it. Bottom line: You should do this if you are looking for a unique, one-of-a-kind immersive entertainment experience.

  • Q. Am I really locked in the room?

Kinda…? You’re always able to move backwards through the room should an emergency arise, but leaving through the door you came counts as a fail and your game is over!

  • Q. How many people play at one time?

VANISHING ACT is designed for 4-6 people. Less than 4, and it becomes extremely difficult to solve all the challenges. More than 6 is possible, but it will be cramped and possibly sweaty experience.

  • Q. Yeah, but I’m really anti-social and don’t want to talk to strangers. Can you help?

Sure thing. If you want to book the room for a private play for just you and yours, CONTACT US.

  • Q. Okay, I’m sold. What time should I get there and how long is the game?

Each experience lasts 90 minutes, including pre-play and post-play. Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled room time. The game lasts 60 minutes – less if you are able to escape. After the game, we’ll lead you through a 15-minute debriefing session to praise you for what you did well, tease you for what you did poorly, and show you what you missed. We’ll also take a picture of you and your team for social media fun-times.

  • Q. Hey, personal question: Do you have a bathroom I can use?

We do. And there’s a potpourri in it because we’re fancy.

  • Q. What should I bring with me?

Your brain. That’s it. Also, use of phones is not allowed in the room.

  • Q. Where do I park?

The meter maids in downtown Duluth can be vicious, however there is a parking ramp directly across the street from us next to the casino.

  • Q. Can I bring my newborn baby?

VANISHING ACT is not scary (rated G). It’s suspenseful, sure, but nobody is going to pop out and shout boo or anything like that. That said, VANISHING ACT is designed for ages 11 & up, but kids are allowed and even encouraged to join with adults. Also, we require adult accompaniment for anyone age 18 or under. All participants must complete a waiver, and anyone under 18 must have a parent sign their waiver.

  • Q. I don’t do well in confined spaces. Can I still play?

Each room takes place in a complex of about 500 square feet. While the room is larger than our first apartment, you will have to be the judge of your own claustrophobia comfort level. Don’t forget, you can leave the room at any time.

  • Q. Can I change or cancel my reservation? Can I get my money back?

We can change your reservation to another room time with 48 hours notice. However, all ticket sales are final and there are no refunds.
